Between prevented flight and restrained walking, The Man with the Lead Sole seems caught in a silent tension.
The Caen stone, shaped like a tilted cube, evokes a head weighed down by thoughts, while the sculpted wooden leg rises from a base like a suspended step. The metal foot, dense and riveted to the earth, imposes its gravity. A motionless figure yet filled with an inner force, this work speaks of fatigue, obsession, or perhaps a heavy memory to bear.
Pascal Le Berre creates here an enigmatic character, both powerful and fragile, whose trajectory remains uncertain.
