With the irony of an ancient proverb, this sculpture depicts the mechanics of ambition.

A monumental gear supports a stone cube with a softened angle, like a head dreaming of ascension. Beneath, the cracked wood testifies to the tensions at work, the invisible fragility of the elevations. The cranked object seems able to turn destiny—or the illusion of having control over it.

Between balance and pride, Who climbs higher... is a contemporary vanity, sober and profound, which questions our desires for grandeur.
