In Soies de papier , Maguy Bourzeix weaves an ode to fragility, grace, and the feminine imagination. Three women, with serene, stylized faces, drape themselves in fabrics that are not fabrics: meticulous pleats, crumpled textures, plays of light that transform the paper into ceremonial fabric.
The golden fans, stylized headdresses, and peaceful gazes suggest a scene of ritual, of silent union between these three figures. Is this an allegory of the ages of life? Muses? Guardian spirits? Maguy Bourzeix lets the mystery float, preferring suggestion to certainty.
