Travel to Jordan
In 1996 I traveled to Jordan with my aunt. We traveled from north to south, from the capital, Aman, to the port of Aqaba on the Red Sea.
Passionate about the different civilizations that inhabited the places, I was able to discover the Nabataean remains, the people who created the site of Petra, those of the Romans in Aman and other places.
For my watercolors I wanted to paint different characters that I came across: soldiers, camel drivers, flute players, etc. I created them from my own photos.
In the vicinity of Aman we met stonemasons restoring a Roman monument. Look at the precision of their gestures. They each use a different tool. They have leaned against the corner of a house to work quietly.
