Camouflaged Head – Alain Monvoisin
In this composition where balance flirts with mystery, Tête camouflée plays with the idea of concealment and revelation. Alain Monvoisin deconstructs the human figure to better reinvent it, superimposing organic and geometric shapes that seem to mask an elusive presence.
The head, here, is no longer obvious: it fades under a veil of abstraction, fragmented into colored elements, almost in motion. An inner fire seems to animate it, with these flames in vibrant hues – yellow, blue, red – which emerge from a structure that is both rigid and floating. A piece of fabric, a graphic lace, a cast shadow… So many elements that contribute to this impression of theatrical staging, where the visible and the invisible confront each other.
Monvoisin asks us: what is an identity, if not a play of shapes, masks and successive layers? Tête camouflée is a visual enigma that fascinates, a pictorial labyrinth where we seek, without ever completely reaching it, the face that is hidden there.
