Circled Head – Alain Monvoisin
In this work vibrant with ambiguity and tension, Alain Monvoisin continues his exploration of "Heads", these enigmatic forms that oscillate between abstraction and figuration. Here, an oval, almost spectral silhouette stands out at the heart of a composition where materials and colors confront each other.
A circle, drawn with a free and instinctive gesture, seems to both enclose and free this floating head. It anchors it in a universe where the structure is deconstructed, where geometric rigor coexists with pictorial accident. The dense textures and layers of colors – green and orange, like a vegetal or mineral glow – contribute to this impression of coexistence between order and chaos, figuration and abstraction.
With this piece, Monvoisin plays on the ambivalence of identity and perception: what is a face, if not a space in constant mutation, crossed by invisible forces? Tête cerclée is a pictorial meditation on the tenuous border between presence and erasure, between the individual and his context.
A hypnotic work, which captures the eye and invites deep reflection on the construction of the image and the self.
