A fissure runs through the material. A clear vein cleaves the mineral darkness like a geological whisper, an ancient scar laden with mystery. Untitled rockform II is an inner landscape, an intimate cartography of stone, time, and silence.

In this photographic work from the Losing Turquoise series, Ioustini Drakoulakou scrutinizes the textural depths of the rock. The dense blacks and ashen blues evoke both the earth and the abyss, telluric origins as well as the specters of a world in flux. The discreet appearance of a distant turquoise becomes a trace of what once was: mineral, symbol, belief.

The image functions like an enigma: is it a microscopic detail or an aerial view of a forgotten territory? The gaze wanders, then becomes contemplative, in the face of this mineral topography which seems to speak to us of memory, of crumbling and of resilience.

A work that is both raw and poetic, where matter becomes meditation.
