In Untitled rockform III , Ioustini Drakoulakou fixes his gaze on the rock as on a palimpsest surface, a primitive and enigmatic territory, crossed by veins, shadows and buried memories.
This photograph, with its almost tactile precision, reveals the depths of a mineral wall streaked with light and history, as if the stone were about to whisper its ancient secrets. Each crack, each white vein, or metallic reflection becomes a testament to a geological time, a fossil memory.
The work echoes the common thread of the Losing Turquoise series, questioning the link between raw materials, ancestral stories and cultural symbols. Turquoise, absent here but evoked, haunts the surface like a precious ghost.
A fragment of landscape become abstraction, an intimate geography where mystery, matter and memory mingle.
