In this first work in the Women with Cats series, Sarah Polyakov weaves a powerful visual connection between human and animal, between gentleness and power, mystery and protection. The woman, her eyes closed in an expression of deep introspection, rests against an enigmatic feline, whose piercing green eyes evoke ancient wisdom. Together, they form a mythical, almost sacred figure.
The subtly cracked pictorial texture recalls the murals of another era, as if this image emerged from a dream or a buried collective memory. The blue of the third eye, placed in the center of the woman's forehead, suggests a spiritual quest, an intuitive awakening shared with her animal double.
