Arestakes - Practicing Sculptor

Born in Yerevan, Armenia on April 10Born in 1957 to French parents, Arestakes developed a passion for crafts from a very young age . Arriving in France in 1969 at the age of 12years old, he already began to make objects out of wood or aluminum wire.

An insatiable autodidact, he nurtures a deep love for architecture, masonry, carpentry and numerous craft techniques. He defines himself as a "bulimic" for "direct", preferring exploration and discovery in the field to any theory.

Awarded Meilleur Ouvrier de France , he embodies a rare artisanal excellence, combined with bold creative freedom. His sculpture reflects his career: sensitive, precise, expressive, and always rooted in a search for harmony between material, form and emotion.

Arestakes embodies the fusion of sculpture and performance. Without a safety net, he creates live, transforming public spaces into a studio, and creating a dialogue between artisanal tradition and artistic spontaneity.
