Practicing sculptor

Born in Yerevan, Armenia on April 10thBorn in 1957 to French parents, Arestakes developed a passion for manual work from a very young age . He arrived in France in 1969 at the age of 12.At 10 years old, he already began to create objects out of wood or aluminum wire.

An insatiable self-taught individual, he nurtures a deep love for architecture, masonry, carpentry, and numerous artisanal techniques. He defines himself as a "glutton" for "hands-on" learning, preferring exploration and discovery in the field to any theory.

Awarded the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman of France) , he embodies a rare artisanal excellence combined with bold creative freedom. His sculpture reflects his career: sensitive, precise, expressive, and always rooted in a quest for harmony between material, form, and emotion.

Arestakes embodies the fusion of sculpture and performance. Without a safety net, he creates live, transforming public space into a workshop, and fostering a dialogue between artisanal tradition and artistic spontaneity.
