Biography Elodie Avati

Since I was very young, I have never stopped drawing, painting and creating, whatever the medium I chose or more often offered by nature and chance during my walks in town: an object to recycle, unusual, found there... From there also come the desire and the emotion to imagine and create.

I think that growing up in Africa and handling raw materials, mixing them, and thus "experimenting" with them gave me the taste for daring to play at composing unique pieces.
Unable, and unwilling, to confine myself to a specific style, my works are as diverse as my thinking is plastic! That's why I have several universes and as many styles, related collections!
I dream and create beyond the framework and norms, conventions and borders; wanting above all that my art “speaks” to everyone and defends without words or accompanied by my writings… the great causes of the world, often mistreated.
Painter, illustrator, visual artist and writer, I am proud and happy to be an artist
"complete" who can thus pose different looks and points of view on the world through his unique works. And one of my particularities is to often combine the visual arts and writing,
like the poems that I sometimes like to hide in some of my paintings.
So I need to think before creating and often I imagine and wander for a long time before putting down the first pencil strokes or the first traces of paint. In my opinion, creating must unite, make people talk about themselves but especially about others, make them think and react without any doubt!
I've recently become a professional painter, and it's painting that came to me rather than the other way around!
Indeed, after a proposal from the Nice town hall in 2021 for a large exhibition of art reproductions of my original paintings on the city and the Mediterranean (12 of my watercolors "Reflections of Nice" are exhibited at the city's Flea Market), I am participating in several international art fairs including the Nice Art Expo, as well as the International Painting Fair in Paris in February 2024, Art Capital.
Furthermore, for the past three years, I have been creating, with a collective of artists chosen by the city of Nice, posters for major cultural and artistic events in Nice: Carnival, Nice Jazz Festival, and most recently the arrival of the Tour de France.
Well...Should I tell you that I'm also a novelist, speech therapist, and editor?!
Finally, you will have understood: I intend to push the limits of the imagination with unique creations and my multiple thoughts!
