“I have always been sensitive to beauty.”

As a child, GODDA admired her father's drawings, his work on wood and stone. She spent long hours drawing herself, inspired by this creative heritage.

Training and Learning
During her high school years, she took fine arts classes under the direction of a Czech painter. At the art museum in Stavanger, her hometown, she learned different plastic art techniques. GODDA then continued her training as a school teacher with a specialization in plastic arts, exploring painting, drawing and sculpture.

Her studies took her to the north of England, to the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. It was there that she deepened her mastery of the play of light and shadow, notably through the evening classes "Light on life". Through charcoal, pastels and collages, she discovered the power of light to create volume.

An Artistic Journey to Provence
After two years of teaching in London, a world tour led her to discover new inspirations. Finally, chance led her to Eguilles, near Aix-en-Provence, where she lives and creates today. Having become a full-time professional painter, GODDA works in her studio, a space where creative freedom takes shape.

Diversified Techniques
One of the particularities of her studio is a room dedicated to dry pastel, a technique she approaches with particular care due to the volatility of the pigments. Acrylic is also at the heart of her approach, allowing her to navigate between the abstract and the semi-abstract. GODDA finds a balance by using these two techniques intuitively, letting color and form guide her creative process.

Inspirations and Themes
Her works are inhabited by themes that impose themselves on her: the Madonna and Child, children protected by their mothers, secret gardens, celestial ladders, shelters... GODDA draws her inspiration from nature, architecture and art exhibitions, where she finds an artistic expression freed from all constraints. Pastel, for her, is synonymous with spontaneity and discovery: all she needs is a shadow on the paper, one color calling for another, for the unknown to be revealed.

Exhibitions and Distinctions

Regular Presence in Galleries and Salons
GODDA exhibits regularly in Aix-en-Provence, notably at the Galerie La Prévôté and the Galerie Les Amis des Arts , where she is a member. She is also a founding member of the association Provence Painting , dedicated to the promotion of local artists in various public and private spaces.

Recent Collaborations and Projects

• In collaboration with the town hall of Salon-de-Provence, GODDA orchestrated the scenography of the Salon en Automne for Provence Painting for three years.
• In 2019, she was selected for the exhibition Against Winds and Tides at Regard sur Cours on Gorée Island, Senegal.
• In 2021, she exhibited at Sola Kulturhus in Norway alongside the sculptor BA, and at the Carrousel du Louvre for the Art shopping event.

Present at Art Capital at the Grand Palais Éphémère
In 2023 and 2024, one of his pastels is selected for the Salon Dessin Peinture à l'eau at Art Capital in Paris. In February 2025, GODDA will exhibit again at Art Capital, this time at the Grand Palais.

Distinctions

Bronze Medal ARTS-SCIENCES-LETTERS
In October 2023, GODDA received the bronze medal for his work, a prestigious recognition that marks an important step in his artistic journey.

Represented by Arts-Discovery
Since December 2023, GODDA has been represented by Arts-Discovery in Aix-en-Provence, and from November 2024, its works will also be available at Paris Créations Virtuelles .
