CV Patrick Fuvel

Self-taught painter , designer and visual artist born in 1958.

Watercolorist at heart but also former comic strip artist of the Métal Hurlant generation .

Met Dario Perez Flores in 1982, starting point for in-depth research into optical art using projected light (Expo at the Grand Palais in 1987).

Full-time painter since 2014. Member of the Maison des Artistes .

 

Artistic journey

• 1982- 1988 Kinetic period based on computer-controlled projected light
• 1988- 2014 Setting aside kinetic experiments – personal work, travel journals, portraits , practice of live models at the Grande Chaumière on the sidelines of a very demanding engineering job . Decision to devote himself entirely to artistic creation.
• 2014 -2015 “ Traces of nature ” - Work on the fractalization of landscapes in mixed technique on cardboard / intensive practice of the live model
• 2015-2017 “Behind the grids” - Evolution towards what we see of a painting hidden by grids . Syncretism between kinetic art, figurative pop-art, surrealism , without technology .
• 2017-2024 “ Behind the Veils” - Search for the poetic expression of movement by painting painted cotton veils that float like a painting in front of the painting. She allows you to compose paintings that literally change with the viewing angle . The project is to combine in 3D and dynamically the shapes and colors in order to express through movement the emotion of feeling alive in front of the painting , this without digital technology .
