In Boy on Horse , the artist reimagines the traditional motif of the equestrian statue with a contemporary and subversive twist. At first glance, the image appears to evoke a classical bronze sculpture, but upon closer inspection, the strangeness of the scene emerges. A young boy, whose youthful, expressive face contrasts with his conquering pose, proudly stands atop a sturdy horse. The paint, in shades of gray and black, appears to drip, giving the impression of a work both solid and ephemeral, frozen in time but melting before our eyes.
